Fake Google Support calls

Scammers are getting sneaky—and now they’re even making their calls look like they’re coming from a real Google Support phone number. When the caller ID shows “Google,” it feels legit, right? That’s exactly what they’re counting on.

These scammers usually spin up some urgent story: your Google account is at risk, your business profile is about to be taken down, or there’s a security problem they need to “fix” right away. Then comes the ask—your password, remote access to your computer, or even your credit card info to pay for fake “support.”

Here’s the deal: Google will never call you asking for passwords, payment details, or Social Security numbers. If you get a call like that—even if it looks like it’s coming straight from Google—hang up.

If you’re ever unsure, don’t take the caller’s word for it. Instead, go straight to Google’s Help Center at support.google.com and check for yourself.
